Who we are and how to reach us
KarobaarSetu builds websites and business software for local businesses in India.
Questions and requests about your personal information are handled by the KarobaarSetu Privacy Contact. Contact them at karobaarsetu@gmail.com, or by phone on +91 9451320232 (also on WhatsApp).
What this website collects
When you submit the requirements form, we collect the details you choose to give us: your name, business name, phone or WhatsApp number, email address, city, existing website, the kind of business you run, the features you are interested in and any notes you add. We also record that you gave your consent, and when.
Nothing is sent until you tick the consent box and press Submit on the final step. Your enquiry is then stored in our database and you are shown a reference number for it.
When you apply for a free trial, we collect the details you give us: your name, your business name and type (and, for a clinic, what kind of clinic it is), your phone or WhatsApp number, your email address if you give one, your city, the size of your team, the services or appointment types you offer and how long they take, and your working days and hours. We also record that you gave your consent, and when. We do not ask for any patient or health information.
Applying does not create an account or start a trial. If our team approves your application and sets up your business account, we keep your name, phone number and email address with it, your password in a protected form that cannot be read back (never the password itself), and a record of sign-ins and of changes made to your account.
To protect our forms, sign-in and online booking from abuse, the IP address your request comes from is used briefly to limit how many requests one visitor can make. When you sign in or book, a one-way cryptographic hash (SHA-256) of the phone number or email address you entered is used in the same way, as a short-lived counter key. A hash like this can still be matched to the number or address it came from, so we treat it as personal information; neither it nor your IP address is stored with your enquiry, application, account or booking. Our hosting provider keeps technical logs of requests to our service, which can include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting; on our current plan, the logs available to us are kept for three days.
Visitors to the public pages are not given cookies. The admin area, used only by our team, and the business account area, used by business owners, each use one essential sign-in cookie. The interactive demos use sample data only and keep it in your own browser. We do not use analytics, advertising trackers or marketing cookies on this website.
Online appointment bookings
Businesses that use KarobaarSetu can let their customers book appointments online. When you book, we collect your name and mobile number, and record the service, the staff member, the date and time, the status of the appointment (for example confirmed, cancelled or completed) and a history of changes to it. Booking does not give you any cookies.
The business you book with uses your booking to run its appointments: it sees your name, mobile number and booking history in its account, can confirm, move or cancel your appointment, and may contact you about it. KarobaarSetu runs the booking platform for the business: we store bookings, keep the service working and secure, and our team can access bookings where needed to run and support the service. We do not sell booking details. If you have a question about your appointment, please contact the business.
After you book, you are shown a private link to see your appointment and, until shortly before it (the notice the business sets), to change or cancel it. Anyone who has the link can do this, so keep it to yourself. It is shown only once and it stays in your browser history. If you move the appointment, you get a new link and the old one stops working. A link stops working 7 days after the appointment’s start time. If you lose it, contact the business: we cannot send it again.
A booking at a clinic shows that you made an appointment there, which can itself be sensitive. We ask only for your name and mobile number. Please do not add symptoms or any other health details.
Booking details are kept until they are deleted. Nothing is deleted automatically at present, and a business cannot delete bookings itself. You can ask us to delete yours, directly or through the business, as described under "Your choices".
Why we use it
We use your details only to respond to your enquiry, to prepare a quote and, if you become a customer, to deliver and support your project.
We use the details in a free-trial application to review it, to contact you about it, and, if it is approved, to set up your trial account with your services and working hours.
We use booking details so that the business can manage your appointment, and to run the booking page: for example, to stop two people booking the same time and to limit how many upcoming bookings one mobile number can hold.
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the service providers listed below, who help us run this website and our business.
Service providers and where your data is stored
Cloudflare hosts this website and runs the service that receives forms, free-trial applications, sign-ins and bookings. Cloudflare operates a global network, so your request may be handled in a data centre outside India.
Neon hosts our database. Enquiries, free-trial applications, business accounts and bookings are stored in its Asia Pacific (Singapore) region, outside India.
When you email, call or message us on WhatsApp, your message is handled by the provider of that service: our email is provided by Google (Gmail), and WhatsApp by Meta.
Each provider handles data under its own terms and privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries, free-trial applications, business accounts and bookings until they are deleted. We have not yet set fixed retention periods, and nothing is deleted automatically at present. You can ask us to delete your information, as described under "Your choices".
Backups
Our database provider, Neon, keeps a history of recent changes for a limited period set by our plan, so that the database can be restored to an earlier point after a mistake or a failure. Before some significant changes, we may also make a copy of the database (a branch) to recover from; such a copy keeps the data as it was until we delete the copy.
Information deleted from the database can remain in that history until the period passes, and in a copy until the copy is deleted. We do not currently keep copies of the database anywhere else. Backups and copies are used only to recover and maintain our own service.
How we protect it
Information travels over encrypted connections, both from your browser to our service and from our service to the database. Enquiries and free-trial applications can be seen only by our team, through a password-protected admin area. A business sees its own bookings only after signing in to its account.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us at karobaarsetu@gmail.com, or by phone on +91 9451320232 (also on WhatsApp). We may need to confirm that a request comes from you. We review each confirmed request and act on it, subject to any legal or other requirement to keep the information; deletion is carried out by our team by hand.
Concerns and complaints
If you have a concern or complaint about how we handle your information, contact the KarobaarSetu Privacy Contact at karobaarsetu@gmail.com, or by phone on +91 9451320232 (also on WhatsApp) and we will look into it.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be able to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Third-party services
Websites we build for customers may use third-party services such as payment gateways and the WhatsApp Business Platform. Those services process data under their own privacy policies, which we will point out in each project.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
